Too lazy to watch, 2.4 turbo or 2.0 from the WRX?

2.4 FA24DIT.

I like it. I assume this is replacing the 3.6?

More important question - CVT or anything else? I know it’s CVT but there’s hope...

Legacy WAGON or nothing. Outbackoutbackoutback.....no! A r oad suspension leg acy wagon! If they want a sedan, they got the bloatmodel year impreza already.

Yes, this replaces the 3.6. I just wish the turbo trim was still called the GT, rather than the XT. That just seems wrong on the Legacy.

That's great, but where is the manual?

CVT only from what I’ve heard :(.

If the new Outback has that engine I’ll replace my 2018.

I actually prefer XT considering it is nothing like the original GT.

True, but it’s nothing like any of the XTs either.

It’s confirmed then, Subaru has gone senile. My coworker with an 04 XT was confused at first when I shared the news .

My prediction is that we’ll see the 2020 Outback XT at NYIAS, so April of 2019.
The 6 cylinder is dead, and there is no way SUBARU is leaving the Outback with a single engine option.

OK, I like it.
Turbo = good. CVT = Meh.
But that Nappa leather...mmmm.....tasty.

I’m rather curious what the CVT would be like with a turbo. I really don’t mind the CVT in my wife’s 2.5i Outback, and I really disliked the manual in my previous ‘05 Legacy GT (it didn’t pair well with a laggy turbo engine).
Maybe a turbo Outback is in my wife’s future...

We had Forester XTs, two of them, both 2016s and they could move - provided you kept the driving mode in S or S#. This engine is larger too, so we’ll see how it behaves.

If (when) this interior and drive-train makes it to the Outback, my wife might be very interested as they don’t make the Forester XT any longer, but... her loaner is a Forester with Eye-Sight and she hates it. Hate is not strong enough of a word. Car brake s for her when it “thinks” there is a chance for an accident, and the system is waaaaaay too sensitive and it just brakes. So, if there is an Outback XT with no eye-sight, Subaru might keep us as customers.
